DESCRIPTION:
As Principal-in-Charge at Grimshaw Architects, David Burke, prepositioned the firm for this project pursuit. He assembled the competition winning team and negotiated the project contract upon award. Following the award, David led the design team through project initiation, contract negotiation, and all design phases, while coordinating all the work between Grimshaw Architects and the local architect of record, Architekton. Completed in 2021, the building houses the Institute of Human Origins—home of Lucy—and the Global Institute of Sustainability. The building is dedicated to the research of human origins and the future of planetary health.
