DESCRIPTION:

As Principal-in-Charge at Grimshaw Architects, David managed the final design and construction phases for this laboratory building. The program brings together undergraduate, graduate, and faculty to foster interdisciplinary learning. The building features laboratories, academic spaces, and maker spaces to inspire chance encounters, collaboration, and research. The collaboration spaces are clearly expressed on the exterior facade as projecting bay windows through a veil of external louvers. These interior spaces are meant to express real-time learning outwardly to the surrounding campus and quadrangle beyond.
